wee- little ones...

what a crazy week we have had! it is always so hard to come back from vacation. i am still trying hard to catch-up. unfortunately, lexie had to have her tonsils out this week. it was definitely a rough road those first few days. i wasn't sure either one of us was going to survive, he he he! glad to put that behind us.
however, i did get to photograph a few babies this week. this actually helped ease lexie's pain a little. she was more than eager to help me. and she really is a good little helper. wish i had her around on more shoots!
so, here are a few pictures from the newborn shoot. we, lexie and i, had so much fun with her. isn't she adorable?

have a great week!

sneaky peaky

i did a photo shoot for matt's brother's family while in utah last weekend. these kids were such troopers. it was only 35-40 degrees when we did these pictures. i was in a jacket and gloves and still cold! they hardly complained, and made me laugh a ton! thanks again for letting us stay with you guys!

Back in the Valley...

for the last several years, matt and i have wanted to make it back to the "Y" for a football game and see the fall colors. something has always prevented us from making it happen, until now! i think it has been eleven years since we have watched the cougars play in "cougar stadium." i have to admit i was a little nervous to go to the game after seeing what the weather was going to be like. they were predicting snow! we don't do well in snow, cold weather etc...that's why we moved to southern california. anyway, the weather held out for us. it was about 40 degrees, cold, but doable. the snow didn't hit until later that night. it really was the perfect weekend away, even if it was a little cold. thanks mom for taking the kids. they had a great time too!

this is what we found when we came out of the canyon! i wish the kids could of been with us to see them!

mothers...

i took this from my sister in law's blog. i love it! just thought i'd share...

Real Mothers don't eat quiche; they don't have time to make it.
Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils are probably in the sandbox.
Real Mothers often have sticky floors, filthy ovens and happy kids.
Real Mothers know that dried play dough doesn't come out of carpets. (In my case, it was a bottle of nail polish last week :)
Real Mothers don't want to know what the vacuum just sucked up.
Real Mothers sometimes ask 'Why me?' and get their answer when a little voice says, 'Because I love you best.'

The Images of Mom

4 YEARS OF AGE - My Mommy can do anything!
8 YEARS OF AGE - My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!
12 YEARS OF AGE - My Mom doesn't really know quite everything.
14 YEARS OF AGE - Naturally, Mom doesn't know that, either.
16 YEARS OF AGE - Mom? She's hopelessly old-fashioned.
18 YEARS OF AGE - That old woman? She's way out of date!
25 YEARS OF AGE - Well, she might know a little bit about it...
35 YEARS OF AGE - Before we decide, let's get Mom' s opinion.
45 YEARS OF AGE - Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?
65 YEARS OF AGE - Wish I could talk it over with Mom.

I love this quote from Sister Hinckley:"Being a mother at any age is a blessing, but as we age and our children become interesting and productive adults we really begin to savor the joys of the harvest, the fruit of our labors. How could we have known when they were young and the demands so constant that we would ever have the luxury of simply enjoying their loving companionship?"

a little different..

just trying out a few different post-processing methods. the possibilities are endless, and of course addicting! at least for me (insert smiley face.)

my cute little munchkin above runs every time i pull the camera out! i tried so hard to get a decent shot of him with the train, sigh. what can ya do?

the cousins are coming...

the cousins are coming!
this is what i have heard all week from chase. he was so excited for his cousins to come and have a "sleepover."
we had a great time with them. we just wished we could of had a little more time with them.

every year matt's mom wants a family picture. this year she sent all of us "matching fourth of july shirts" to wear in the picture. i love having family pictures, i am not wild about "matchy match" stuff, but whatever. my husband, and his brother, on the other hand, hate this. apparently, they had to do this a lot as kids and are now scarred for life. it was great to have kris and aaron here to help us get these pictures done.

thanks kris!

i couldn't locate three of our shirts, and decided to just take the picture anyway. knowing me, if it wasn't done now, it just would never happen! it feels great to have it done!

A trip to ...

the pumpkin patch

we took the little ones to the pumpkin patch today. i wanted to give chase the chance to enjoy it all by himself, without any siblings that is! even though it was bright, sunny, and a tad warm the kids really did have a good time. i can't wait to go back with the other kids. this place really is done well!

halloween is just around the corner, do you have all your costumes ready?

have a great day!
