spring break at the beach....

we spent a wonderful day at the beach. i always come home feeling like the best mom after a day at the beach with my kids. i make sure each kid has at least one friend going. more times than not, they each have like 3-4 friends going! they just play, play, and play. the water was freezing, but the air was nice and warm. ian found this little guy in the picture below! i am surprised he didn't go looking for spongebob too...lol!

it is definitely feeling like spring! i love it!!!

disneyland adventures....

so, it's spring break and we thought, "let's go to disneyland!"
and so did everyone else.
i thought, "we have a wheelchair. we will get to the front of every line."
so did everyone else.
apparently, wheelchair access is limited to 6 people. we had 15.
the wheelchair saved us little to no time waiting in line. i was sad!

however, i did learn that disneyland employees are well trained in the manner of finding lost children. did you know that you can walk up to any disneyland employee and tell them you have a lost child, and they will drop whatever they are doing and come help you. they will get on their "handy dandy" radios and tell everyone that there is a missing child.
(p.s. it was not one of my children that was lost.)

here are a few pics from our first spring break fun day!

happy spring-break!

who knew the school playground

could be so much fun?
i went into ian's class to do some pictures of the kids for a project. i took them out to the playground that they always play on, and you would of thought they had died and gone to heaven. they were so cute! they kept begging me to take a picture of them "doing this" or "doing that." i had such a great time with them. so here are few pictures. i would of loved to post some others...but without permission, i thought it best not to do it.

FYI: wood chips have the ability to go through all your clothing, even jeans! i do not look forward to laying down in the wood chips again anytime soon!

congrats ian

we are so proud of you ian! you are a great kid! here's a picture of ian with a bunch of his buddies. these are the kids that were cheering for him at the baptism. this was perhaps the loudest baptism i have ever attended, i guess it just goes with ian's personality! it was definitely a memorable day.

thanks to family and friends for all your help. we appreciate all of you who traveled to be here with us on this special day! we are definitely loved by many, thanks again for all your help!

time for a change....

after spending all my time cleaning the house, i decided it was time for the kids to step in and do some work. after all, aren't i doing them a great disservice by doing everything for them? shouldn't they have some type of work ethic? so, matt and i decided to start with having them help out with the dishes after dinner. so here's how it went...

matt: okay, now one of you will wash the dishes off and put them in the dishwasher.

ian: oohh gross, i will never do that job.

matt: umm, yes you will.

ian: oh, no i can't do that. all those germs from everybody, all that food, i will just throw up. besides isn't this a parent job?

matt: get busy ian!

apparently while trying to teach them cleanliness, i have also done them a disservice! i need a parenting handbook, obviously!
and since i can't post without a picture...here's a sweet one! before they can talk back and refuse to help clean the house!

senior-itis

this is one great kid! i guess he's not really a kid anymore, with college just around the corner. mr. t hangs out a lot in front of my house at the basketball hoop with the other boys. so we have got to know him quite well. he is great with the little kids, and most polite to the adults. what a pleasure it was to photograph him.
