Random Shots

These are some random fun shots while on our trip. I left my flash card with the pictures from AdventureLand and Winters Quarters at the hotel. The kind lady up front assured us they would mail it to us...I am still waiting. Some of my favorite pictures are on that card. I really hope it is returned! So in the mean time here are some other fun pictures I have been editing!

A little birdie told me Miss L was wanting to see her pictures....so I will begin with a few of her.

Hopefully, my card will be in the mail today, and I can move onto {DAY 3} of our fabulous trip!

Church History Tour

Independence MO, Libery Jail, Far West, & Adam-Onodi-Ahmen

{Day 1}

This is a picture of Community Christ's Temple (or better known as the R LDS church.)

This spiral top is a symbol of peace. On the inside of this building you can look up into the spiral which is the shape of a shell.

There is a museum inside this building, with some great original pieces. They had some original manuscripts and the original paintings of Joseph and Emma Smith.

This is the original site of Liberty Jail. This is where Joseph Smith and 4 other men spent four months. That bucket you see down below, was their bathroom! The sister missionary giving the tour was trying to help the little ones understand just how difficult it was to be locked up here. It was cold, they were given little food that was sometimes poisoned, it was dark, etc...and then my dear sweet Ian politely asked her, "Did they have a t.v.?"

This area was so beautiful! I couldn't resist trying to get a few "good" pictures.

This is where you can see the cornerstones of the Far West Temple. Fascinating story....definitly worth reading (again.)

Here we are at Adam-Ondi-Ahman. This are is just so incredibly beautiful, this time of year.
Stay tuned as we move onto Adventureland in Iowa, and Winters Quarters.

Church History Tour

Kansas City, MO{The day before the trip really began}

We flew into Kansas City, but stayed in Independence. We were hooking up with everyone else to begin our tour, the next day. Matt and I took the kids into the city for a look around. The buildings were all incredible, lots of old stone/brick work. I was in Photography Heaven. Unfortunatley, my kids wanted nothing to do with a photo shoot. So these are just a few of what I could kinda get.

Note the 14 in the Haz Mat sign, ha ha. When I saw this, I just had to have Alec stand by it.

Awards and Promotion

I can't believe it is the end of the school year!

This is Lexie with all her friends from primary who acheived honor roll. Lexie also received the Academic Achievement Trimester Award.

These are some pictures from Alec's eighth grade promotion. I can't believe he is going to high school next year. Uh, don't look too close....I didn't quite get some of these in focus. I hate when I do that!

Onto bigger and better places, right Alec?
