little lexie
genetics are a screwy thing i tell you! about five years ago we did surgery on alec's feet to help him be able to run and participate in other sports. it was about a six month process to get both feet done. we have now started that same surgery on lexie. (and will probably have to do ian in a couple of years!) it is really yucky right now, but alec assures us it is well worth it. i know she is looking forward to dancing, running, and playing with her friends again.
so here is a picture of lexie with her friends at disneyland. we took her and her friends there a few days before the surgery. we hope to go back in about 5 wks. and reap the benefits of using a wheelchair at disneyland.
after the tonsil surgery, i was very nervous for this one. but she is doing really well. she will be out of school for the next two weeks, so if you have any great books to recommend let us know!

the return of the 'stache...
we figured that since so many celebrities today are sporting a 'stach, we figured ian should try it. isn't he cute with one???? doesn't it make you think about the old shag carpet from the 70's he he he!

ian's teacher had all the kids make their own mustaches' and wear them to school to go along with a story they were reading. i wish i could of been there to see all the different mustaches the kids made and wore! what a fun idea!

happy new year!
oh my, where has the time gone? i can't believe we are at the end of our vacation and the beginning of another year! we had a lot of fun celebrating the new year. we spent new years eve at a great family party at the church. michelle did a fabulous job putting together great activities for all ages. i wish i had some great pictures to post of it, but they all turned out terrible...my family's favorite activity was the family tug of war. our family apparently needs to participate in a weight lifting program...we were just awful! but the kids loved it, that is all that counts.
we spent new years day at the beach and at the ice skating rink. we originally set out to do some ice skating down at the coronado island outdoor rink, at the hotel del. the ice there was terrible, and for $25 a head, we thought it best to hit a regular rink.

the kids were so excited to climb around the rocks and find all different types of sea life...like this little crab below.
look at these cute kids...they are soo much fun!
the kids enjoyed the ice skating way more than i ever imagined they would. i didn't think they would last very long, but after two hours of skating they still weren't ready to leave. they really did improve tremendously during that two hours too. now they all want to know when we can go back!

hope you all had a fun and safe holiday!
